'Shrek 5' Will Happen Says DreamWorks Animation CEO. Jeffrey Katzenberg assures fans that Shrek's story is not yet complete, and that another chapter is happening sometime in the future.


DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg is pretty confident that we'll see a fifth Shrek movie sometime in the future. For now, the franchise is taking a rest, but rest assured, everyone's favorite Ogre and his friends will return.

Yesterday, it was announced that Merlin Entertainments has teamed up with DreamWorks Animation to create the Shrek themed attraction 'Far Far Away Adventure' in London, with future versions to appear throughout the world over the course of the next few years. Jeffrey Katzenberg recently conducted an interview about this huge endeavor with Fox Business Network, where he revealed that Shrek isn't dead, but merely taking an extended siesta,

"We like to let them have a little bit of time to rest, but I think you can be confident that we'll have another chapter in the Shrek series. We're not finished, and more importantly, neither is he."
