Andy Hallet, who played suave demon Lorne on Angel, has died after a five-year battle with heart disease, according to his agent, he was 33.
The actor died of heart failure at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Sunday March 29, 2009, Halley's agent and friend Pat Brady told E! Online. Hallet's father, Dave, was by the actor's side when he died.
Hallet was from the Cape Cod village of Osterville, Mass., and appeared in more than 70 episodes of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off Angel as Lorne, a friendly demon who hosted and performed karaoke at a demon bar. Also a musician, Hallet contributed two songs — "Lady Marmalade" and "It's Not Easy Being Green" — on the Angel: Live Fast, Die Never soundtrack in 2005.
Hallet spent his post-Angel career working on his music and touring the country before being admitted to the hospital three or four times over the last few years. A private funeral will be held in Cape Cod, most likely over the weekend.
It's a very sad day for the fandom. Deepest condolences to his friends and family.
